Thanks to Boston.com, I found the ticket info for the LAUNCH! Event New Leaf is speaking at on April 8th.  It's in Attleboro, but it's only FIFTEEN smackers for an ENTIRE DAY of valuable business and legal advice from fellow entrepreneurs.  New Leaf will be participating in the following two presentations:

Lessons Learned – Intellectual Property (IP) and Product Development
Focus: Overview of product development stages and the IP protection that should be in place at different stages. Depending on the product, IP protection may include trademark(s) registrations applied for, proper trademark marking of goods and services, name availability search(es), copyright registration(s), applied for patent application(s) filed, work for hire and assignment agreements for employees and contractors executed, assignments on record at the appropriate recording agency, patentability search and freedom of operation opinion, nondisclosure agreements ready for investors, evaluators, consultants, and other third-parties to sign.

Ideas: Fizzle or Sizzle  

Focus: Learn what to consider when you develop and promote your idea. Find out the difference between marketing and branding. Determine when you should protect your ideas (Intellectual Property-IP) and the best avenue for you to protect your IP. Many of the greatest ideas fall short.  Along with a "crash course" in the different forms of intellectual property, the workshop will explore multiple avenues for protecting IP and help you determine what you need to do ensure your idea has a successful entry into the marketplace. Marketing, branding, securing a trademark and keeping a trade secret are some of the topics we'll cover in this IP course with a branding twist.

This second panel will be co-presented with the lovely and wonderful Jill Cartwright, found of Go Gaga, one of my personal favorite bag companies.  They're actually diaper bags, but they look so cool (and are SUPER easy to clean!) that you would never know. Hope you'll join us!
